Columbia University College of Dental Medicine is Awarded Cabrini Foundation Grant for Education and Prevention

The Mother Cabrini Health Foundation has awarded the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine a $400,000 grant to embed an oral health education and prevention component into its service model for patients receiving care in its dental clinics and community care settings. The grant represents an expansion of the collaboration between CDM and the Foundation, which seeks to improve the health of vulnerable New Yorkers. Read more.

Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine: Six Stony Brook Students Match in Phase I

This year’s residency season got off to a flying start at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine, with six students securing residency positions through Phase I of the Match. Two will continue their education in the orthodontics and periodontics advanced education programs at Stony Brook, while four others earned such residencies at Columbia University, Montefiore Medical Center/Einstein College of Medicine, Rutgers School of Dental Medicine and University of the Pacific.

Touro College of Dental Medicine at New York Medical College Dental Students Give Long Island Kids A Smile

Dental anxiety affects millions of Americans, and students at Touro College of Dental Medicine (TCDM) did their part to mitigate it last week at the school’s Give Kids A Smile (GKAS) event held at the Lawrence Kindergarten. Seventeen dental students screened, educated and entertained 150 four and five-year-olds during the three-hour program. Read more.

NYU College of Dentistry: Effective Cavity Prevention Program to Launch in New Hampshire Schools

CariedAway™ NH Concord, an innovative cavity prevention program developed by researchers at NYU Dentistry, has received a $1 million, three-year award from Northeast Delta Dental to launch in elementary and middle schools in Concord, Pittsfield, and the Merrimack Valley school district. The program will use point-of-care technology created by Massachusetts-based New England Survey Systems (NESS) to design precision treatment plans. Read more.
