Removing barriers for foreign-trained dentists

Attracting and retaining top faculty is imperative to New York’s six dental schools. However, the New York Education Law §6604-b serves as a barrier for many, as it restricts dental faculty members trained outside the United States to practice without a full license. This causes many foreign-trained dentists to practice in other states, when retaining good dentists in New York is already a challenge.
