Increasing reimbursement
Expanding access for patients with developmental disabilities
Increasing reimbursements for dentists treating people with special needs
Why we stand behind it
Dental care is complicated for patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It can be difficult – or even impossible – for some people with special needs to endure dental diagnosis and treatment. Many patients require dentists with specialized training in treating people with intellectual and developmental disabilities – but reimbursement does not adequately cover this type of care. We are committed to expanding reimbursement – including Medicaid – to create more equitable oral health care across the state.
